DESCRIPTION: This encyclopedic museum features large permanent galleries include African, American, Asian, Byzantine, European, and Contemporary art. There is a rotating Splendors of Ancient Egypt exhibit. Each February the museum features a Jazz & Classical music concert by African American composers. A 165,000 square-foot expansion project display more of its extensive collections. An extensive gift shop greets you on premises.

Virginia Repertory Theatre
DESCRIPTION: Founded in 1953, the theatre presents national caliber productions of the great comedies, dramas and musicals-past, present and future. Shows perform in both a 207-seat theatre in the Shops at Willow Lawn and on the intimate stage of Historic Hanover Tavern. Altria Theatre
DESCRIPTION: Opened in 1927, the building is a lavish replica of a Moslem Temple, seats 3,667 people for Broadway shows, symphonies, operas and ballets. Into the dome alone went 75,000 square feet of gold leaf were placed on the dome alone. Auditorium decorations include Saracenic decorations and five paintings bordering the proscenium arch of the stage. It is currently home to the Richmond Symphony.
