DESCRIPTION: The Chrysler is considered one of America’s best fine art museums. Stroll through 5,000 years of art history at the former home to Walter Chrysler, Jr. This world-class collection of 30,000 pieces of American and European painting and sculpture, 20th Century art, decorative glass and photographic art is captivating on many levels. A 300-seat theater hosts musical performances and year round lectures. Numerous free activities for children, a fine restaurant and a gift shop onsite. An extension to the museum is several nearby houses that are accurately restored to their 18th century condition.

Chrysler Hall
DESCRIPTION: Since its grand opening in 1972, Chrysler Hall has served as one of the premiere performing arts center of Southeastern Virginia. It features a busy year-round calendar. It comfortably seats 2,500 patrons who have very good sight lines.

Harrison Opera House
DESCRIPTION: The official home of the Virginia Opera is located in the Ghent Arts district of Norfolk. During World War II, this venue served as a USO theater for veterans shipping off or returning from overseas duty. Edythe and Stanley Harrison contributed a large sum of money to lavishly renovate and enhance this historic theater in 1993. Τhis beloved opera house hosts concerts and touring Broadway plays. It has 1,632 seating capacity, ample modern amenities and inexpensive parking adjacent to the theater.

L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center
DESCRIPTION: Named in honor of the first Black governor of Virginia, this exquisite and luxurious performing arts venue. Upon entry, a grand staircase and spiral crystal chandelier serve as the focal point catching your eye. Attend a concert or play on its Broadway-quality stage and listen to excellent acoustics for the many and varied musical performances year round. It seats over 1800 patrons.

Naval Shipyard Museum
DESCRIPTION: Norfolk Naval Shipyard Museum was founded in Norfolk in 1949. It was later moved to the Portsmouth waterfront.
