Airport

Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) is exactly as it states, a regional airport. If you can’t find a convenient flight, it’s best to fly into Birmingham or Atlanta airport, then drive here. Rental car agencies serving the airport include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National, and Thrifty brands. Car rental counters are on the ground level between Concourse C and B. Take Highway 80 East to reach downtown in about 15 minutes. Taxis from the airport to downtown Montgomery should cost about $20.

Train Station

There is no Amtrak service to Montgomery at present, but Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana are collectively working on a High Speed Rail plan to restore passenger rail.

Tours

One of the most fun things you can do for a pocket change ride on the faux-vintage bus. The trolleys provide passengers transportation to many of the City’s Landmarks, Historical sites, and Government centers. Catch it at Historic Union Station Transportation Center or board it anywhere along its famous route.
