DESCRIPTION: Flo Ware was a Black activist and humanitarian who received numerous awards for service and fostered 20 children before she died in 1981; small playground

Powell Barnett Playground
DESCRIPTION: Named after an early Seattle pioneer who organized the Black YMCA, Barnett was a past president of Seattle Urban League and the prime architect who amalgamated of the local white and Black musicians unions in 1956; great place for kids; large playground, basketball courts, picnic areas

Woodland Park
DESCRIPTION: Covering 188 acres including Woodland Park Zoo and Woodland Park Rose Garden; children's play area, tennis courts, athletic fields, picnic tables

DESCRIPTION: Named after a Black Seattle pioneer who came to the city in 1860; he opened "Our House" inn and restaurant in 1876 and a hotel in 1883
