VIRGINIA BEACH

With its miles of oceanfront beaches, nine months of temperate climate and gentle breezes, Virginia Beach is an ideal place for outdoor sports and family picnics.

The Boardwalk:
A world famous 3-mile oceanfront promenade is the place to see and be seen. Renovated, wider and prettier with
landscaped pedestrian beach entrances, larger-than-life sculptures, manicured park areas and resort area along Pacific Avenue between 1st Street through 40th Street.

Events: Virginia Beach hosts a variety of national sporting events including: ESPN X-Trials, Bud Light Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, East Coast Surfing Championship, and the North American Sand Soccer Championships. It can accommodate every beach activity known to man and woman: beach volleyball, sand soccer, surfing, sailing, boat races, triathlons, sea kayaking, open water swimming, and fishing. The main beach ranges from 2nd to 39th Streets.

Lifeguards: are on duty from 9:30a-6p daily from mid-May to mid-September between 1st and 41st Streets and at Camp Pendleton, Croatan, Sandbridge and Fort Story beaches.

Restrooms: permanent restrooms are on 30th, 24th and 17th Streets and portable restrooms at 2nd Street.

Pets: are not permitted on public beaches, the boardwalk, or the grassy area between the boardwalk and hotel property from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Pets are allowed under control in the residential area north of 42nd Street or south of Rudee Inlet after 6p and before 10a.  Virginia Beach spends a lot of money keeping beaches clean.  So do your part.  Be Eco-friendly by carrying airtight containers for clean up.
